So, you have an Acer laptop, whose battery is not working anymore. You are looking for a replacement battery. “Where can I find Acer batteries?” is perhaps, the question that is screaming in your head.
There are many retailers who sell Acer batteries. Some of them even have online presence. You can easily go to their website and search for the battery you need.
You need to remember that Acer batteries are designed specifically for each laptop brand and model. You cannot interchange batteries. If you do, your laptop may not work or it may result in other complications.
If you’re buying a replacement battery, you first need to choose your Acer laptop model. Then look for the battery that is compatible with your model of the laptop. The 6-cell lithium ion batteries are rechargeable, they provide 4400mAh of capacity and they also assure long battery life. 8-cell batteries provide 4000mAh of capacity with long life. The main difference between these batteries is the amount of charge they maintain, after the recharge. If the number of cells is lesser, the battery will not be able to retain its charge for long. So, for example, the 6-cell battery will give about 2-2.5 hours of backup, while the 8-cell may give you about 3-4 hours.
The price range for replacement Acer batteries is anywhere from $50 to $150. If you can bag a deal, you’re in luck. If you do a little searching on the internet, chances are that you will find what you want, and at a price that’s to your liking.
No one likes to keep changing batteries, at least not after you already got a replacement battery! There are a few things you can keep in mind, to help retain your battery for a longer period, and to enjoy long runs.
1. Prevent memory effect. This is not needed for Lithium Ion batteries.
2. Keep the batteries clean. It is good to clean the dirty battery contacts, with cotton swabs and alcohol. This is a good maintenance practice.
3. Use the battery. Don’t leave the battery dormant for long periods of time.
4. Plan proper battery storage. If you’re not going to use the battery for a long period of time, store it in a clean, dry and cool place. Place away from heat and metal items.
